Price
HostGator’s price value is one of the lower ones in the industry, offering fewer features and less hosting space to the basic webhosting customer. Where they mostly excel is in the reseller and dedicated hosting prices and features.

Reliability
HostGator’s data center operations are co-located out of The Planet’s facility in Dallas, Texas, enabling it to access Tier-1 backbone providers such as UUNet, Sprint, Level 3, Global Crossing, Verio and AT&T. They are very reliable.

HostGator uses the CPanel control panel system, which is a very popular control panel. CPanel operates on an interface with many different functions and is very user-friendly and makes it very easy to manage all aspects of your hosting account.
